Barre Luxe Opens at Sandtown Crossing

Earlier today, Shana Roussell  and Thanayi Smith celebrated the opening of their new venture, Barre Luxe, with a ribbon-cutting in partnership with the South Fulton Chamber. The new fitness studio offers clients a luxurious approach to taking care of themselves, mind, body and spirit.

The studio offers a variety of barre and yoga classes daily, as well as guided meditation. Barre workouts, a fast-growing fitness trend, incorporate movements derived from ballet.

In addition to fitness classes, Barre Luxe plans to offer monthly workshops on a variety of topics, including finances and diet, and annual spa retreats.

“This is such a needed business in our community, we are so tired of driving to Buckhead and Midtown for services like this,” said Dyan Matthews, president of the South Fulton Chamber of Commerce. “The only way for us to make it a success is for us to sign up, start coming, take advantage of these wonderful services and support these two ladies for what they are doing.”

Councilwoman Catherine Foster Rowell echoed Matthews’ sentiments. She said that residents have overwhelmingly said that they would like to have a wide variety of health and wellness facilities in their community.

Barre Luxe takes over the space previously occupied by Barre B, a similar business model. Smith said that she and Roussell met as patrons of the previous business and became fast friends. Now they are achieving their own dream as co-owners of Barre Luxe.

While anyone can take classes at Barre Luxe, Smith and Roussell emphasized that one of their primary goals is to create a space for women to relax, breathe and commune with other like-minded individuals who share their same vision for their lives.

“We give, and we give, and we give on so many levels,” said Roussell. “This is a place where we want you to be able to come and have some time just for you, so you can get replenished, re-centered, refocused and take care of yourself. Because you cannot continue to pour out if you are not getting poured into.”

Barre Luxe is located at 5819 Campbellton Road, Suite 105 in the Sandtown Crossing shopping center. Monthly plans and drop-in rates are available. For more information, visit www.mybarreluxe.com or call 404-254-2108.
