Boil Water Advisory Lifted with Exception of Hutcheson Ferry Road Zone

Following a temporary loss of pressure last evening, a Boil Water Advisory was issued for residents and property owners in the City of South Fulton, Union City and the City of Fairburn as well as a portion of southwest Atlanta along Cascade Road SW and Benjamin E Mays Dr. SW between Avon Avenue SW and Fairburn Rd SW.

Samples taken throughout the affected area confirmed no system-wide contamination of the public drinking water system. The boil water advisory has been lifted throughout most of the advisory area, with the exception of the Hutcheson Ferry Road zone, including the following streets: Selborne Way; Selborne Lane; Augusta Lane; Gainey Lane; Rockhill Drive; Atlanta Newnan Road; Serenbe Lane and Middleton Way.

The Department of Watershed Management will continue to follow its flushing protocols for the system as a precaution and will process samples for the remaining zone to affirm the distribution system water quality has not been compromised.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Hutcheson Ferry Road zone will remain under the boil water advisory until final testing is completed. These results are expected to be available by the morning of July 31.
