Westlake Students Support Christion Abercrombie for ‘Do Good December’

Last night, Westlake High School students held the first of two "Do Good December" events in support of graduate Christion Abercrombie and his family. Abercrombie was critically injured this fall when his Tennessee State University football team played Vanderbilt University. Last night's fundraiser at Chick-fil-A on Camp Creek Parkway will benefit the Abercrombie family. The second event, taking place today, December 19 at 4:00 p.m. at Westlake, will be a school homecoming for Abercrombie. ‘Stuff the Bus’ Effort Aims to Stock Seniors’ Pantries for the Holiday Season

With the holiday season quickly approaching, National Church Residences is hosting its first Stuff the Bus for Seniors Donation Drive to address food insecurity in its communities and the surrounding metro Atlanta areas. The Stuff the Bus for Seniors Donation Drive will be held on Tuesday, December 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Big Bethel Village, located at 500 Richard Allen Blvd SW in Atlanta. Donations of canned and dry goods, condiments and household products are requested. Acceptable items included: canned meats, vegetables, fruits, stews and chili, canned soups, canned or packaged pasta, peanut butter, tea bags and ground coffee, hot and cold cereals, rice, cake and pancake mixes, syrup, powdered milk, juice boxes, granulated sugar, granola and cereal bars. Christmas Ball and Toy Drive Brings Hope to Victims of Violent Crime

The holidays can be an especially difficult time for grieving families. South Fulton Gets Opportunity to Weigh in on AeroATL Greenway Plan

In early 2017, the Aerotropolis Atlanta Community Improvement Districts (AACIDs) were awarded a grant from the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) to complete the AeroATL Greenway Plan. When finished, the comprehensive trail master plan will connect communities around Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, including Forest Park, East Point, College Park, Hapeville, and portions of South Fulton and Clayton County. According to Kirsten Mote, program director at AACIDs, the area will include portions of Districts 1, 2 and 3 in the City of South Fulton. Residents of these districts are asked to complete a community survey and share their vision and thoughts on the master plan.
