South Fulton businesses and residents will be honoring veterans in and around the city on Monday, November 11 in a variety of ways.
Stacey Abrams will be the special guest speaker at the Atlanta Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc’s Veterans Day event at 11:00 a.m. The event will take place at Prince Hall Grand East, 7340 Old National Highway. It’s free and open to the public.
Sandtown Pub will host a free Veterans Day breakfast from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in partnership with WAOK’s Dr. F. Keith Slaughter. South Fulton elected officials as well as representatives from the South Fulton Police Department and the Veterans Administration will attend. The pub is located at 5819 Campbellton Road, Suite 202. Swag bags will be distributed.
The Creekside High School JROTC will present the colors in the opening ceremony of Christian City’s Salute to Veterans, followed by a musical program and recognition of Christian City residents who have served. The event begins at 10:00 a.m. in the auditorium at 7290 Lester Road. The public is invited to attend.
Wolf Creek Golf Club will honor all who have served with a special offer for all active and retired military personnel. The $30 deal includes the green fee and cart fee. Call 404-344-1334 to book your tee time.
Special deals, including free meals, are available for veterans on Monday throughout the metro area. Applebees, Subway, Publix and The Home Depot are among the companies that will participate. A full list, along with details, is available on the VA website.
