Earlier today, Goodwill of North Georgia opened the doors to its new store located at 6175 Old National Highway. Among the ribbon-cutting ceremony attendees were Mayor William “Bill” Edwards and Christopher Pike, the City of South Fulton’s economic development administrator.
The Old National location is the 62nd to open in North Georgia and the newest addition to a network of more than 160 independent, community-based Goodwill organizations in the United States and Canada.
“Our new store offers a modern and fun shopping experience,” says Elaine Armstrong, vice president of marketing. “Shoppers can expect to find household treasures, bargain-priced clothing, great deals on books and more. Thrift shoppers know what to expect at a new Goodwill store, but even if you haven’t visited us before, we think you’ll enjoy shopping with us.”
In addition to a diverse inventory, when shoppers enter the Old National store they’ll find graphics along the walls telling the story of Goodwill’s mission to put people to work. Goodwill uses the sale of donated goods to fund its programs and 13 career centers located across the region and an online environment, careerconnector.org.
In 2017, Goodwill organizations’ career service programs connected more than 288,000 people in the United States and Canada with jobs. Additionally, in the same year, more than two million people received in-person services, and more than 38 million people used computers and mobile devices to access Goodwill education, training, mentoring and online learning services.
Until Sunday, April 7, shoppers at the new Goodwill location on Old National will have the opportunity to enter hourly drawings for Goodwill gift certificates. Those who wish to drop off items can take advantage of the store’s drive-up donor door, available for convenience.
The Old National Goodwill Thrift Store is open Monday – Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. The donation center is open Monday – Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
