Hapeville Charter Names Top Graduates for Class of 2020

Hapeville Charter Career Academy has announced the top 25 students in the Class of 2020. Chloe Pierre Mitchell and Abigail Anochie earned the top two spots.

Valedictorian Chloe Pierre Mitchell has been an active member of her school community, participating in Future Buisness Leaders of America, National Society of High School Scholars, National Beta Club, Skills USA, Student Ambassadors of Georgia and the Student Government Association. She’s received acceptance letters and scholarship offers from multiple colleges. In the fall, she plans to study behavioral neuroscience.

Mitchell gives all glory to God for her success. Her favorite scripture and source of encouragement is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.”

Salutatorian Abigail Anochie is class president, vice president of the National Honors Society, a Youth United Liaison, and the co-president of the United Ghana Christian Church College Planning Cohort program. She has volunteered at Medshare and participated in workshops at Grady Memorial Hospital and Serenity Empire PCH. Last summer, she interned at Medicine Forum at Emory University.

Anochie is first-generation Ghanaian American and is proud of the culture and traditional beliefs that have been passed down to her. Her family and community have been driving forces in her success.

“In all things that I do, it is backed by the fact that I come from a family who did not have the same opportunities as me, as they grew up in an undeveloped country,” she said. “They have made huge sacrifices to allow me the opportunity to gain exposure and set me up to be successful in whatever I chose to do.”

“I see so much pride and joy in the eyes of my parents and grandparents as they see me strive to become in some way what they had hoped for themselves, yet due to circumstances, were not able to become,” she continued. “I will forever be grateful and will do all that I can to do meaningful work and live a driven and purposeful life.”

Hapeville Charter Career Academy has produced a video slideshow to recognize its top 25 students. Meet the scholars (names also listed below):
