‘Happy Hour Yoga’ Brings New Meaning to the Weekend Wind Down

There’s a new “happy hour” in South Fulton that’s challenging residents to take a different approach to how they start their weekend wind down. Dr. Niesha Cherry returns this Friday, September 27 to Welcome All Park (4255 Will Lee Road) for Happy Hour Yoga at 6:00 p.m.

The one-hour session offers an intense but relaxing outdoor workout experience. And Dr. Cherry says you don’t have to completely trade in your martini glass for a yoga mat. With class ending by 7:00 p.m., there’s still plenty of time for some Friday night fun.

“I’ve combined a number of yoga techniques that accommodate participants from beginner level to more advanced levels,” she said. “I’ve also created a playlist that helps set the tone and vibe for every class. The yoga participants will get a great yoga experience that incorporates power yoga, deep breathing, intention setting, mind, body, and spirit connection and rejuvenation.”

Dr. Cherry is a power yoga certified instructor and nutrition coach. She takes a holistic approach to helping her clients create optimum health. She says that those who embrace yoga and practice it consistently can achieve more strength, toning, flexibility, and even weight loss, along with less stress and joint pain.

Registration for Happy Hour Yoga in the Park is free via Eventbrite. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat and water, and arrive 10 minutes early to find a spot.
