Portion of Cascade Road to Close for Culvert Work Starting July 12

A culvert repair project on Cascade Road at the Branch of Utoy Crossing will begin tomorrow, July 12 at 10:00 a.m.

The culvert is located between New Hope Road and Fulton Industrial Blvd. A portion of the road will be closed to through traffic. The repair process is expected to take months, and no end date has been announced at this time.

For weeks, drivers who regularly travel the stretch of road have been forced to slow down due to a dramatic dip. They’ll now need to begin exploring alternate routes.

The road closer will not affect activities at nearby Trammell Crow Park (4980 Cascade Road).

“We ask for your patience as repairs on the culvert begin,” said District 1 Councilwoman Catherine Foster Rowell. “All regularly scheduled and permitted activity in Trammell Crow Park will continue as planned.”

The city of South Fulton is circulating a map outlining available detours to help residents navigate the area. Those impacted can call the city of South Fulton’s Public Works Department at 470-552-4311 for additional questions and assistance.
