Councilmember Reeves to Hold First Town Hall at Burdett Park

South Fulton’s District 5 City Councilmember Corey Reeves will hold his first town hall meeting since taking office at the top of the year on Saturday, February 1 at Burdett Park. Fulton County Commissioner Joe Carn has teamed up to join him for the tailgate-themed event.

The town hall will kick off at 10:00 a.m. The agenda will include community updates, including information on the SeeClickFix app and Census 2020. Refreshments will be served.

Councilmember Reeves says he’s making it a priority for residents to have an opportunity to be heard and not only ask questions, but also get answers. Residents have complained that the public comment format during many city meetings yields little feedback or response.

“Residents will be given a card to write down their questions and we’re going to get to as many of them as we can,” said Councilmember Reeves. “Any of the questions left unanswered will be addressed in a detailed follow up response that will go out to all of our attendees.”

Councilmember Reeves hopes to capitalize on the excitement of Super Bowl weekend but recognizes that residents will have party planning on the brain. So he’s promising not to hold them too long.

“They can be sure that we will get out on time,” he said.

The town hall meeting will be held in the community room at the Burdett Park Recreation Center. It’s located at 2945 Burdett Road.

Questions about the town hall meeting can be directed to Councilmember Reeves’ legislative specialist, Sondra Parham at 470-366-5575 or [email protected].
