South Fulton Closes Facilities, Discontinues Programs and Services

South Fulton City Hall Closed

The City of South Fulton is continuing to release the details of its coronavirus response. As of today, all city facilities, including City Hall, will be closed to the public until further notice. Additionally, all in-person services and programs have been indefinitely postponed.

Essential employees, including fire and police personnel, will report to work as scheduled. Sanitation services and code enforcement activities will continue. The city has instituted a telecommute policy for the remainder of its employees.

“We have quickly taken proactive measures to ensure the safety of our residents and staff,” Mayor William “Bill” Edwards said during a press conference. “We understand our responsibility to the more than 100,000 residents of the City of South Fulton and we will do everything in our power to live up to it in these difficult times and beyond.”

The City of South Fulton City Council will meet Tuesday, March 17 at 5 p.m. for a work session and at 7 p.m. for the regular council meeting. Both meetings will be closed to the public but will be available via livestream on YouTube.

Residents can access the video link on the homepage of the city’s website. A link to participate in the public comment portion of the meeting is also available.

Following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, officials are encouraging those who are at highest risk of contracting the virus – including older residents and those with heart disease, lung disease and diabetes – to stay at home.

For questions and non-emergency issues, residents are asked to use SeeClickFix or call the 311 call center at (470) 552-4311.
