South Fulton Events: It’s Fall Y’all!

Today marks the first day of fall, and a number of events are planned in and around South Fulton over the next few weeks to embrace the new season and take advantage of cooler temperatures.

South Fulton Branch Library (4055 Flat Shoals Road, South Fulton) introduces Storytime: Hello, Fall! this week on September 25 at 10:30 a.m. Children will listen to stories, participate in music and movement and make a craft to take home. The event is for children 3-6.

King Creations Personal Chef Service will host a Beginners Candy Class from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on October 12 and October 26 at 6225 Hwy 92. Just in time for Halloween, learn how to melt, mold, dip and make a variety of candy from peanut butter cups to turtles. Tickets are $25 via Eventbrite.

Taste of Sofu will kick off three fall-themed events in the month of October, including a Fall Festival on October 1, an adults-only Octoberfest featuring Black-owned spirits brands on October 15 and a Halloween celebration on October 29 featuring a costume contest and trick-or-treating. All events take place at the Southwest Arts Center (915 New Hope Road, South Fulton) from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tickets are free via Eventbrite.

Cliftondale Elementary School (3340 West Stubbs, South Fulton) will host a Taste of Cliftondale on October 18 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and the event includes games, food, entertainment and more. Proceeds from the event will go towards new books.

The Apple a Day Mobile Unit Health Fair of Georgia brings South Fulton County families together for a day of health screenings, healthy food, entertainment, giveaways and more. The event takes place on October 19  from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at 4650 Jonesboro Road in Union City and is presented by Golden Gate Health Care Resources. Registration is free via Eventbrite.

Wolf Creek Library (3100 Enon Road, South Fulton) will kick off its Halloween festivities with a Zombie Makeup Workshop on October 19 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The event is sponsored by The Serenbe Institute for the Arts, Culture & Environment and is open to all ages.

The City of South Fulton’s Parks and Recreation Department will host a Family Fun Fall Festival at Welcome All Park (4255 Will Lee Road, South Fulton) on October 26 starting at 3:00 p.m. The event, hosted in partnership with Councilwoman Helen Willis, will include food trucks, a video game truck, bouncy houses, candy and a youth costume contest. A screening of the 2019 release of “The Lion King” will begin at 6:00 p.m.
