South Fulton Gets Opportunity to Weigh in on AeroATL Greenway Plan

In early 2017, the Aerotropolis Atlanta Community Improvement Districts (AACIDs) were awarded a grant from the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) to complete the AeroATL Greenway Plan. When finished, the comprehensive trail master plan will connect communities around Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, including Forest Park, East Point, College Park, Hapeville, and portions of South Fulton and Clayton County.

According to Kirsten Mote, program director at AACIDs, the area will include portions of Districts 1, 2 and 3 in the City of South Fulton. Residents of these districts are asked to complete a community survey and share their vision and thoughts on the master plan. The feedback gathered will help guide the exploration of opportunities to create bicycle and pedestrian facilities and other amenities aimed at enhancing connectivity.

The deadline to complete the survey has been extended to Friday, December 15. The next community engagement meeting will be held on Thursday, January 11 in Forest Park.
