South Fulton to Hold Investigative Hearing and Other Meetings Next Week

The City of South Fulton will hold a number of meetings next week.

Councilwoman Catherine Foster Rowell will hold a District 1 Townhall Meeting on Monday, December 9 at 6:00 p.m. at Wolf Creek Library at 3100 Enon Road.

The Board of Ethics will hold a meeting on Monday, December 9 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall at 5440 Fulton Industrial Boulevard. The board will hear two complaints, #2019-05: Jose Bright v. Helen Willis and #2019-06: Helen Willis v. Jewel Johnson.

The Urban Redevelopment Authority will hold a meeting on Tuesday, December 10 at 4:00 p.m. at the South Fulton Arts Center at 4645 Butner Road. The URA map and plan will be discussed.

An investigative hearing and the regular meeting of the city council will be held on Tuesday, December 10 at the South Fulton Arts Center. The hearing will begin at 5:00 p.m. to be followed immediately by the regular meeting.

The purpose of the hearing is to determine if District 3 Councilwoman Helen Willis steered business away from the city’s development authority and created a hostile work environment. The hearing will be overseen by a retired judge and sworn testimony will be given by witnesses.

The regular meeting will include four public hearings on the following: council final approval of the URA plan and related items; council approval of a request for an alcohol license at Chevron Food Mart at 3850 Flat Shoals Road; council approval of Z19-004 for rezoning from C-2 to Condition to C-1 for Jonesboro Road; and council approval of M19-004 Modification of Z84-190 at 5626 Old National Hwy.

A Community Zoning Information Meeting (CZIM) will be held on Thursday, December 12 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall regarding application M19-007 for a modification for Bedford Estates. The applicant has requested to reduce the lot width requirement due to extreme topography for lots 136-140.
