Editorial by Samuel Wakefield As we get ready to head back to school, I figure that this is a good opportunity to provide parents such as myself with a bit of a pep talk to begin the year. Make no mistake about it, the start of a new school year can be just as daunting for parents as it is for the child. Already, we have bags of schools supplies that need to be sorted, uniforms that need to be organized, hair that needs to be done (remember we’ve got 4 girls)…the list goes on. This only represents the cosmetic part of preparing for the school year. We haven’t even begun to talk with the girls yet about their goals for the year or how they’re feeling. Thousands of Free Backpacks to be Distributed at Back-to-School Events in South Fulton

Back-to-school events kicked off in South Fulton this weekend with the 2nd Annual Healthy South Fuilton Family Fun Day. The event is sponsored by Touch of Life Chiropractic in partnership with Councilwomen Catherine Foster Rowell and Carmalitha Gumbs. Each year, hundreds of backpacks are given away. Additionally, vendors are available to connect families to important resources including healthcare providers, afterschool programs, extracurricular activities and more. Back-to-school events will ramp up starting on Friday, July 26.
