South Metro Democratic Women Hold Forum for District 6 Commissioner Candidates
On July 8, the South Metro Democratic Women's Council held the first candidate forum for those vying to become the next Fulton County Commissioner in District 6. The seat was previously held by the late Emma Darnell.
Nine candidates have qualified to run: Khadijah Abdur-Rahman; Yoshina Colbert Bradford; Joe Carn; Carl Winfred Dorsey Jr.; Sonia Francis-Rolle; Sojourner Marable Grimmett; Warren C. Head Jr.; Rafer Johnson; and Gordon L. Joyner. Bradford, Francis-Rolle, Grimmett and Johnson are residents of the city of South Fulton, which comprises 50 percent of District 6.
During the forum, six of the nine candidates addressed a number of topics, including workforce development, environmental justice and senior services. (Watch the forum in its entirety below.)
