Transportation Plan Public Meeting Scheduled for Oct. 1 in South Fulton

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is working with eight cities in South Fulton County to update the 2013 Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP). The update will serve as the roadmap for refreshing the individual cities’ plans and for implementing the area communities’ vision, which includes improving mobility, accessibility and multi-modal connectivity. The project kicked off in March with data collection and assessments. A robust plan for digital and in-person engagement has been planned. Thus far, coordinators have shared the details of the plan update with the city of South Fulton's elected officials at the South Fulton Municipal Association meeting and work sessions. South Fulton ‘Adopt-A-Road’ Program to Target Litter, Promote Beautification

This week, South Fulton's city council passed a resolution to create an "Adopt-A-Road" program. The program's goal is to prevent litter and encourage beautification efforts across the city. Civic organizations are encouraged to get involved. Garden clubs, scouting groups, church and business organizations, corporations and even high school student councils are all eligible to participate. Portion of Cascade Road to Close for Culvert Work Starting July 12

A culvert repair project on Cascade Road at the Branch of Utoy Crossing will begin tomorrow, July 12 at 10:00 a.m. The culvert is located between New Hope Road and Fulton Industrial Blvd. A portion of the road will be closed to through traffic. The repair process is expected to take months, and no end date has been announced at this time. For weeks, drivers who regularly travel the stretch of road have been forced to slow down due to a dramatic dip. They'll now need to begin exploring alternate routes.
