From Monday, July 15 through Friday, a portion of Boat Rock Road between Binford Place and Cascade Hills Drive will be closed approximately 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. each day due to the filming of "The Outsider," an HBO television series based on the work of Stephen King.Also, one eastbound lane of Boat Rock Road between Cascade Hills Drive and Mitchell Crossing Drive will be closed. Motorists traveling to and from the Cascade Hills Subdivision via Boat Rock Road will still have the ability to travel that route with the assistance of flaggers on site. Detour routes are available along New Hope Road, Reynolds Road, Bakers Ferry Road, Camp Creek Pkwy and Fulton Industrial Boulevard. A culvert repair project on Cascade Road at the Branch of Utoy Crossing will begin tomorrow, July 12 at 10:00 a.m. The culvert is located between New Hope Road and Fulton Industrial Blvd. A portion of the road will be closed to through traffic. The repair process is expected to take months, and no end date has been announced at this time. For weeks, drivers who regularly travel the stretch of road have been forced to slow down due to a dramatic dip. They'll now need to begin exploring alternate routes.
