Traffic Shift at I-285 and Camp Creek Planned for June 10

Work crews for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) plan to implement a traffic shift in conjunction with on-going construction of the Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) project at I-285 and State Route 6/ Camp Creek Parkway in Fulton County.

Weather permitting, on Monday, June 10, crews will shift traffic access to the lanes on the south side of the DDI bridge. Shifting existing traffic from the bridge’s north side will allow crews to begin work on the north side, while traffic flows on the south side lanes.  Message boards and signage will alert drivers of the traffic shift.

One center lane will continue to be closed, ensuring safety for workers and drivers as construction continues.

Once complete, it is expected that the I-285 at Camp Creek DDI will increase traffic flow and mobility in the area, reduce traffic accidents and provide a distinctive gateway for the area.

The GDOT cautions motorists traveling in the area to reduce their speeds in the work zone. Motorists are also encouraged to wear seatbelts, eliminate distractions behind the wheel, and plan their routes before getting on the road by calling 511 for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
