‘Stuff the Bus’ Effort Aims to Stock Seniors’ Pantries for the Holiday Season

With the holiday season quickly approaching, National Church Residences is hosting its first Stuff the Bus for Seniors Donation Drive to address food insecurity in its communities and the surrounding metro Atlanta areas. The Stuff the Bus for Seniors Donation Drive will be held on Tuesday, December 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Big Bethel Village, located at 500 Richard Allen Blvd SW in Atlanta. Donations of canned and dry goods, condiments and household products are requested. Acceptable items included: canned meats, vegetables, fruits, stews and chili, canned soups, canned or packaged pasta, peanut butter, tea bags and ground coffee, hot and cold cereals, rice, cake and pancake mixes, syrup, powdered milk, juice boxes, granulated sugar, granola and cereal bars. Household products may include paper towels, napkins, plates, utensils, toilet paper, and housecleaning supplies. Those who cannot make it to the event can drop-off items at Big Bethel Village the week of Monday, December 17 – Friday, December 21 between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to Heather Murray, service coordinator for National Church Residences. All food donations and new household products will be delivered and distributed to National Church Residences properties and to older adults in need who live in the surrounding communities.
