Forums Connect Commissioner Candidates to Community

Ahead of the election for Fulton County Commissioner District 6, South Fulton residents are getting to know the candidates via a series of forums in the local community.

Voters will have a chance to connect with the candidates on August 3 at Cornerstone Fellowship Church (3310 Bethsaida Road, 30213) at 10:00 a.m. during a townhall meeting hosted by city of South Fulton Mayor Pro Tem and District 7 councilmember Mark Baker.

On August 5, the Cedar Grove Community Association (CGCA) will hold a forum at Arlington Christian School (4500 Ridge Road, 30213) at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Sir Jose Bright will serve as the moderator. Questions will be taken from the audience and from live stream viewers. CGCA is a nonprofit, non-partisan organization.

On August 14, the South Metro Democratic Women’s Council will hold their second forum at Cascade United Methodist Church (3144 Cascade Road, 30311) at 7:00 p.m. The organization’s third forum will be held on August 26 at 7:00 p.m. Greater Mount Pleasant Baptist Church (3150 Dogwood Drive, 30354).

“Our voices need to be heard as our votes will matter in this election to select our next commissioner,” said Eliese Fisher, president of the Cedar Grove Community Association. “Forums make it easier for our voters to learn about the candidates, develop their own points of view, and help us to decide who would best serve our community.”

The polls will open for early voting starting on August 26 at the South Fulton Service Center, Fairburn Library and Fulton County Government Center. Election Day is September 17.
