Tonight, December 5, the Old National Merchants Association will host its customer appreciation party and toy drive. The event takes place every December in time for the holiday season.
Festivities will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Diamond Hall & Conference Center located at 5495 Old National Highway, #C9. Guests are asked to bring an unwrapped toy valued at $10 or more or a monetary donation.
Richard Thweatt, the owner of Diamond Hall says that the event benefits area families who are facing hardships.
“Over the years that we’ve been doing this, we’ve run into a lot of underprivileged families,” said Thweatt at last year’s event. “We get lists of people who are in need from neighborhoods and churches. We don’t just want to give the gifts to anyone. We want them to go to people who are really in need because they appreciate them more.”
Founded in 1989, ONMA was launched to create a healthy economic environment for merchants and the community. Now in its 30th year, the organization continues to embrace new challenges and opportunities along the Old National corridor.
