Sen. James Appointed to Senate Passenger Vehicle Seat Safety Belt Study Committee

Sen. Donzella James (D – Atlanta) was recently appointed by Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan to serve on the Senate Passenger Vehicle Seat Safety Belt Study Committee. The committee was created by the passage of Senate Resolution 366 during the 2019 legislative session. As outlined in the resolution, the committee will be comprised of five members and will study ways to increase seat belt safety in Georgia. The committee is required to submit their findings by December 1, 2019. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2016 seat safety belts in passenger vehicles saved the lives of nearly 15,000 drivers and passengers.
