GDOT Announces Overnight Lane Closures on I-285 This Weekend

Georgia DOT will install overnight single and double lane closures on I-285 this weekend in Fulton County to continue the ongoing concrete slab rehabilitation project.

Single lane closures throughout the project area will begin at 10 p.m. Friday, March 27, then double lane closures will be installed at 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Monday, March 30.

The impacted lanes include:

  • Northbound between Washington Road and Cascade Road
  • Southbound between Camp Creek Parkway and the Roosevelt Highway Overpass
  • Southbound between Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and Cascade Road
  • Southbound between Cascade Road and Campbellton Road

Rolling” lane closures are planned throughout the project area for hydro-blasting. As crews complete work in one area, the closures will “roll” to the next location.

Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. GDOT maintenance team members who repair roads and bridges and project team members who oversee construction projects are continuing their essential work, while following sanitary work practices prescribed by health agencies to protect themselves.
