Lane Closures on SR 166 near Boat Rock, New Hope Roads Start Today

The Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will install single lane closures on SR 166 near the intersections of Boat Rock Road and New Hope Road in South Fulton this week.

These closures are related to installation of storm drain pipe and water insertion valves as construction of the SR 166 at Boat Rock and New Hope Roundabout project continues.

Weather and on-site conditions permitting, single lane closures will be installed on SR 166 eastbound in the project area from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday, September 8 through Friday, September 11. Signage and message boards will alert drivers in advance of the closures.

Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.

Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app. Maintenance team members who repair roads and bridges and our project teams who oversee construction projects are continuing their work while following sanitary work practices prescribed by health agencies to protect themselves and the public from the coronavirus.
