Super Senior Profile: Rayven Berry

This month, we’re celebrating South Fulton’s Super Seniors!

Meet Rayven Berry, a member of Hapeville Charter Career Academy’s Class of 2020. She is a dual enrollment student at Atlanta Technical College where she studied patient care. In addition to her academic workload, she’s juggled being a cheerleader and a member of the Hapeville Dance Team. She will matriculate to Albany State University in the fall and major in biology.

Q1: What are some of the things that you’ve been proud to accomplish during your high school career?

A1: I was able to successfully balance cheerleading, dance and working a part-time job with my school work. I am a dual enrollment scholar at Atlanta Technical College in the patient care assistant program. I will be certified as a CNA after this program.

Q2: How have you given back to your community?

A2: I have done over 60 hours of community service. I have served a medical missions group, my Shaw Temple Church’s food and clothing bank, served Thanksgiving dinners to the poor, and read stories to first graders at RISE Grammar School.

Q3: What are your plans after high school? What are your career aspirations?

A3: I plan to attend Albany State University in the fall and major in biology. I want to go into pediatric medicine or nursing.

Q4: Who has helped you the most along the way? How did they make a difference in your life?

A4: My mom has helped me the most during this journey.  She encouraged me to take part in educational programs such as the Morehouse STEAM program and Global Youth Ambassadors, participate in shadow programs at Atlanta Pediatric Partners and Benchmark Physical Therapy, and complete numerous scholarship applications.

Q5: Based on your high school experience, what advice would you give to the members of the Class of 2021?

A5: I would share with the class of 2021 to maintain your grades. Do not slack off in your senior year. It is important to do well on the SAT, but don’t stress yourself out. In addition, if you are worried about finding a college, the right one will come.
