Daytime Closure of Creek Pointe Way at Camp Creek Pkwy Starting Aug. 14

Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) contractors will implement a closure and detour at Creek Pointe Way and Camp Creek Parkway for approximately two days to install a 30’’ drain for the Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) project at I-285 and Camp Creek Parkway.

Creek Pointe Way runs behind several popular businesses and restaurants across from the Camp Creek Marketplace, including Starbucks, The U Bar, Regions Bank and Taco Bell.

Motorists can expect the daily closure on Wednesday, August 14 and Thursday, August 15 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Contractors will flag traffic through the closure to ensure the safety of the traveling public and workers.
.
During the closure, motorists on Camp Creek Parkway will be directed to take N. Commerce Drive to access Creek Pointe Way and the surrounding businesses. Message boards and signage will alert drivers of the closures and traffic impacts in advance of the project area. These activities are necessary to continue utility relocations in preparation for the DDI construction.

Motorists traveling in the area are reminded to reduce their speeds in the work zone. Motorists are also encouraged to wear seatbelts, eliminate distractions behind the wheel, and plan their routes before getting on the road by calling 511 for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
