PruittHealth in South Fulton Earns National Quality Award

PruittHealth in South Fulton has been recognized as a 2022 recipient of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The award is presented to facilities that demonstrate their commitment to improving the lives of patients and residents through quality care.

Created in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is a three-level process that is reviewed and judged by trained experts against a set of nationally recognized standards for organizational excellence. The standards of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program help organizations achieve superior performance to improve quality of life and care of long-term care patients and staff.

PruittHealth is a family-owned organization that has offered skilled nursing care, home health care, end-of-life hospice care, therapy services, and pharmacy and infusion services across the Southeast for the last 50 years. PruittHealth facilities located in Blue Ridge, Ga., Carolina Point, N.C., Fitzgerald, Ga. Moultrie, Ga. Rock Hill, S.C., Toccoa, Ga. and Washington, Ga. also received the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award.

Like many skilled nursing care facilities, PruittHealth was hit hard by the COVID-19 global health crisis. In response, the organization published its COVID-19 Report in 2021. Additionally, the organization now maintains a Coronavirus Status dashboard that offers real-time updates on the number of patients that have tested positive.

“PruittHealth understands transparency is key to building trust among our patients and their families, referral sources, payors, and our local communities,” said Neil L. Pruitt, Jr., CEO and chairman of PruittHealth earlier this year. “Throughout the pandemic, our family-owned organization has upheld its commitment to transparency. We publicly share COVID-19 data on our website, and, in our annual COVID-19 Report, we highlight significant investments in infection control, infrastructure improvements, staffing and employee retention efforts, and more, despite our $260M revenue loss since the start of the pandemic.”

The Commitment to Quality Awards will be presented during AHCA/NCAL’s 73rd Convention & Expo in Nashville, Tennessee, which will be held from October 9-12, 2022.
