South Fulton Celebrates Fathers

Father’s Day is June 16 and there are several events taking place to celebrate and honor South Fulton’s dads.

Councilwoman Naeema Gilyard will host a Father’s Day Appreciation event in partnership with Arlington Christian School (4500 Ridge Road) on June 15 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The event will include free food and drinks and a special surprise.

Old National Entertainment (O.N.E.) and I’m A Father First will host Super Soaker Saturday Southside Edition at Creel Park (2775 Creel Road) on June 15 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The event will include a Father’s Day cookout and water gun fight with a “stop the violence” theme.

Union Christian Church (3595 Union Road) will host a Father’s Day BBQ on June 15 at 5:30 p.m. Residents of the area are invited to come out and meet their neighbors. Attendees are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share.

Fulton County Solicitor General Keith E. Gammage’s “Father’s Day Expungement Program” ( will be completely online this year. It’s free and open to everyone. The initiative aids citizens in clearing non-violent, misdemeanor arrests from their criminal histories to give them a second chance.
