South Fulton Celebrates Fathers

Father’s Day is June 16 and there are several events taking place to celebrate and honor South Fulton’s dads.

Councilwoman Naeema Gilyard will host a Father’s Day Appreciation event in partnership with Arlington Christian School (4500 Ridge Road) on June 15 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The event will include free food and drinks and a special surprise.

Old National Entertainment (O.N.E.) and I’m A Father First will host Super Soaker Saturday Southside Edition at Creel Park (2775 Creel Road) on June 15 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The event will include a Father’s Day cookout and water gun fight with a “stop the violence” theme.

Union Christian Church (3595 Union Road) will host a Father’s Day BBQ on June 15 at 5:30 p.m. Residents of the area are invited to come out and meet their neighbors. Attendees are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share.

Fulton County Solicitor General Keith E. Gammage’s “Father’s Day Expungement Program” (www.fultonrestorativejustice.org) will be completely online this year. It’s free and open to everyone. The initiative aids citizens in clearing non-violent, misdemeanor arrests from their criminal histories to give them a second chance.
