Congressman Scott to Host 15th Annual Health Fair

Congressman David Scott will host the his annual Thirteenth Congressional District Health Fair on Saturday, August 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Mundy’s Mill High School (9652 Fayetteville Rd., 30238). The event is now in its 15th year. Advance registration is encouraged via the Congressman's website. The event will include free screenings, exams and information for breast cancer, prostate cancer, HIV, diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, uterine fibroid, mental health, vision, glaucoma, dental, orthopedic and flu shots.  Eligibility screenings will be available for Medicaid, PeachCare, Medicare, Social Security, SNAP, Head Start, veterans’ health and service-connected disability benefits, and HomeSafe Georgia. South Fulton Resident Joins Legislators to Advocate for Women’s Health during Fibroid Awareness Month

For years, South Fulton resident Adrienne Woods suffered from fibroid symptoms that affected her quality of life. This week, in recognition of Fibroid Awareness Month, she joined legislators, medical experts and women affiliated with The White Dress Project during a press conference to urge members of the Georgia General Assembly to address women’s health seriously and advocate for common sense healthcare options. Langston Hughes High’s Tenga Places 3rd in Congressional Art Competition

Langston Hughes High School's David Tenga has placed third in Congressman David Scott's 17th Annual Congressional Art Competiton. Tenga's submission entitled "A Bit of Me" earned him a $3500 scholarship from The Art Institute of Atlanta, a $650 summer seminar scholarship from The Savannah College of Art and Design and a $400 scholarship from sponsors AT&T and Georgia Power. Additionally, Tenga's work will hang in the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s Youth Art Gallery for one year.
