South Fulton Plans Census Town Hall and Sweepstakes to Drum up Participation

As of June 11, 57 percent of South Fulton residents had responded to the 2020 U.S. Census. Officials have set a goal of 80 percent, and recently announced plans to hold a virtual town hall and launch a contest to encourage participation. According to a press release, the virtual town hall will be streamed on the city's YouTube channel on June 16 at 6 p.m. Residents can submit questions in advance by emailing Deloris Baskin at [email protected]. City of South Fulton Unveils Post-COVID Reopening Plans

City of South Fulton officials have unveiled a tentative plan to reopen city facilities and operations over a 60-day period starting July 5. According to the city's news release, the plan outlines protocols for social distancing, enhanced hygiene and sanitizing procedures limited personal contact and other safety measures. The City of South Fulton Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department has announced a series of public input meetings as part of the Parks Master Plan process. City Continues Food Giveaway as Food Insecurity Rises Nationwide

The City of South Fulton continues its weekly food giveaway this week on Thursday, May 28 at Welcome All Park, 4255 Will Lee Road at 11 a.m. Participants will be able to drive through the distribution site to safely pick up their items. The effort is made possible through a partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Like many other cities, South Fulton has transitioned its meetings of the Mayor and City Council to a virtual format. A new meeting schedule has been announced. Weekly Food Distribution Continues at Welcome All Park

South Fulton elected officials continue to assist those impacted by the COVID-19 virus through a series of weekly food distribution events open to all residents. The next distribution will take place at Welcome All Park, 4255 Will Lee Road, on Thursday, May 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The effort is in partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Support is also being provided by Coca Cola Bottling Company, Renaissance Church of Christ and the Delta Mu Mu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.
