Children’s Book Festival Set for May 14

A new Children's Book Festival is coming to the metro area thanks to the Fulton County Library System, Atlanta-Fulton Public Library Foundation and presenting sponsor PNC Bank. The festival will take place May 14 at the newly renovated Central Library, One Margaret Mitchell Square, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The event is aimed at engaging young readers, from infants to teens, in all of the resources the library has to offer.  “The need for live, in-person and engaging events for youth that are focused on literacy has never been greater," said Fulton County Library System’s Executive Director Gayle H. Fulton County Library System Partners with PAPER to Offer Online Tutoring

This week, the Fulton County Library System is launching an online tutoring service for Fulton County residents and library card holders.  The service is provided in partnership with PAPER, formerly GradeSlam, and can be accessed by visiting  www.fulcolibrary.org/digitallibrary or paper.co. Earlier this year, PAPER was the winner in the tutoring solution category and finalist of the personalized learning solution category of The EdTech Awards 2020. Library Summer Reading Program Goes Virtual, Kicks off June 1

Like much of the Fulton County Library System's recent programming, the summer reading kickoff will take place online. The program, themed "Imagine Your Story," will run June 1 through August 1. Library patrons can register to participate at https://fultoncounty.beanstack.org. Each week, the library will present a full week of programming including virtual story time for children and adults and author talks. Programming and ResourcesStorytime has gone digital at Fulton County Library. Join staff for Storytime-Live!, Monday- Friday at 11 a.m. on Facebook and listen to special stories while little ones are home from school, daycare or just in need of some mid-morning fun. Big Library Read is kicking off one week early. All Fulton County Libraries to Close on Sept. 24

All branches of the Fulton County Library System, including the Wolf Creek, South Fulton and Southwest branches, will be closed to the public on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 for Staff Development Day. Regular operations will resume on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. While the library is closed, patrons can continue to use the Digital Library by visiting www.afpls.org/digitallibrary. Digital resources include magazines and newspapers, test preparation resources, language instruction, ebooks, homework help and more.
