Spark a Thought – A Universe of Words
Friday, June 21 at 11:00 a.m.

Be part of public art in the making and join a collaborative word game. The task is simple: write a line of poetry or your favorite phrase on a piece of paper, pass the paper on to the next player, who writes another line, then folds the paper to hide the first person’s line and passes it on until everyone has added a line. Unfold to reveal the resulting composition and read as a whole story or poem. Excerpts from Spark a Thought – A Universe of Words will be engraved on mirror discs and become part of a piece of public art that will enhance the new atrium of the renovated Central Library (scheduled to re-open in 2020), becoming a dynamic poem of light. This poetic installation will present a textured collage of Atlanta’s community – our hopes and curiosities blended, layered, and transformed by creating together.
