Children’s Book Festival Set for May 14

A new Children's Book Festival is coming to the metro area thanks to the Fulton County Library System, Atlanta-Fulton Public Library Foundation and presenting sponsor PNC Bank. The festival will take place May 14 at the newly renovated Central Library, One Margaret Mitchell Square, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The event is aimed at engaging young readers, from infants to teens, in all of the resources the library has to offer.  “The need for live, in-person and engaging events for youth that are focused on literacy has never been greater," said Fulton County Library System’s Executive Director Gayle H. All Fulton County Libraries to Close on Sept. 24

All branches of the Fulton County Library System, including the Wolf Creek, South Fulton and Southwest branches, will be closed to the public on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 for Staff Development Day. Regular operations will resume on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. While the library is closed, patrons can continue to use the Digital Library by visiting www.afpls.org/digitallibrary. Digital resources include magazines and newspapers, test preparation resources, language instruction, ebooks, homework help and more.

Wolf Creek Library Celebrates Five Years with Community Birthday Party

Today, before the Wolf Creek Branch opened its doors at 10:00 a.m., a crowd was already forming. Children of all ages, accompanied by their parents, had gathered to celebrate the library’s fifth birthday. Stonewall Tell Elementary students led party attendees in Stevie Wonder’s rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Cake was served and favorite libraries memories were shared. Commissioner Arrington Hosts Annual Write to Rise Workshop

Starting June 1, Fulton County District 5 Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr. will host the third annual Write to Rise Young Writer’s Workshop and Competition in conjunction with Friends of Wolf Creek and Opus Cultural Lifestyle Magazine. The workshop and subsequent competition are available on a first-come-first-served basis to middle and high school students in Fulton County. South Fulton: Library Event Lineup for May

Take advantage of yoga, Friday Fun Night, the Wolf Creek Library walking club and much more.  Additionally, starting on May 5, Miller City Farm will host a four-part series for ages 16 and up on how to "Grow Your Own Food." Sessions will take place at Wolf Creek Library on May 5 at 2:30 p.m., May 18 at 2:00 p.m. and May 26 at 2:30 p.m. The last session will take place at Miller City Farm.
