City of Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens has announced that Odie Donald II will join his administration as Chief of Staff on Feb. 28. Born and raised in Atlanta, Donald brings deep governmental and public administration experience to the city. He comes to Atlanta from Augusta, where he served as the Administrator for the consolidated government of Augusta-Richmond County. South Fulton City Manager to Give TED Talk on the ‘Future of Work’

South Fulton City Manager Odie Donald II will deliver a TED talk on "The Future of Work: Is a Job Enough" on August 17 at Frederick Douglass High School. Prior to joining the city as its head administrator, Donald was the Director of the Washington, D.C. Department of Employment Services. He is credited with helping nearly half a million people find jobs through government programs. Launched 30 years ago, TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to "ideas worth spreading." The organization's annual conferences feature talks by the world's leading thinkers and doers including Bill Gates and Sir Richard Branson. City Manager Transmits $100 Million Budget Draft; Public Hearing Set for Aug. 27

A draft of South Fulton’s FY2020 budget is now available for review. Among the city’s budget priorities are to increase staffing capacity, grow commercial business revenues, make improvements to roads and parks, and brand and market the city. Total anticipated revenue for FY2020 is $104,913,204. Of those dollars: general refund revenue totals $72,117,952; TSPLOST dollars total $17,951,476; $4,595,560 will come from restricted grants for federally funded road projects; and $9,448,216 is for capital projects. The remainder of the funds are to come from the hotel/motel fund and solid waste fund. Anticipated total expenditures amount to $100,696,351. The city’s budget plans are ambitious.
