Lane Closures on I-285 at Camp Creek Pkwy DDI Bridge this Weekend

Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors will install overnight lane closures on I-285 this weekend in conjunction with ongoing construction of the Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) project at I-285 and Camp Creek Parkway in Fulton County.   Weather permitting, two left lanes will be closed on I-285 southbound at Camp Creek Parkway from 9:00 pm on Friday, December 6 through 5:00 am Monday, December 9.  Work crews will be painting the DDI bridge structure.The Camp Creek Parkway Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) is a $13 million project that will address increasing traffic, reduce traffic incidents. Construction began in fall 2018 at the existing overpass of SR 6/Camp Creek Parkway at I-285 located in Fulton County, Georgia.  This will be the 7th DDI construc...

Georgia DOT Suspending Lane Closures during the Thanksgiving Holiday

To ease Thanksgiving traffic congestion statewide, Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) is suspending construction-related lane closures on heavily traveled interstate highways and state routes from 6 a.m. Wednesday, November 27 to 5 a.m. Monday, December 2. The statewide lane restrictions allow commuters work-zone free travel and reduced traffic congestion during the Thanksgiving Holiday. Similar restrictions will be in place for Christmas and New Year’s. Transportation Plan Public Meeting Scheduled for Oct. 1 in South Fulton

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is working with eight cities in South Fulton County to update the 2013 Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP). The update will serve as the roadmap for refreshing the individual cities’ plans and for implementing the area communities’ vision, which includes improving mobility, accessibility and multi-modal connectivity. The project kicked off in March with data collection and assessments. A robust plan for digital and in-person engagement has been planned. Thus far, coordinators have shared the details of the plan update with the city of South Fulton's elected officials at the South Fulton Municipal Association meeting and work sessions. Portion of Boat Rock Road Closed for Filming; Simulated Explosion Planned

From Monday, July 15 through Friday, a portion of Boat Rock Road between Binford Place and Cascade Hills Drive will be closed approximately 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. each day due to the filming of "The Outsider," an HBO television series based on the work of Stephen King.Also, one eastbound lane of Boat Rock Road between Cascade Hills Drive and Mitchell Crossing Drive will be closed. Motorists traveling to and from the Cascade Hills Subdivision via Boat Rock Road will still have the ability to travel that route with the assistance of flaggers on site. Detour routes are available along New Hope Road, Reynolds Road, Bakers Ferry Road, Camp Creek Pkwy and Fulton Industrial Boulevard. Overnight Lane Closures on SR 74/S Fulton Pkwy for Resurfacing This Weekend

Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will continue resurfacing activities this weekend on SR 74/South Fulton Parkway between SR 14 and the Fayette County line in Fulton County.  Weather permitting, work crews will implement single overnight lane closures on Friday, July 12 from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am Saturday, and on Sunday, July 14 from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. on Monday.  Crews will be patching the roadway, preliminary work for the resurfacing needed to improve the roadway’s deteriorated condition. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2019.Motorists traveling in the area should reduce their speeds in the work zone. Portion of Cascade Road to Close for Culvert Work Starting July 12

A culvert repair project on Cascade Road at the Branch of Utoy Crossing will begin tomorrow, July 12 at 10:00 a.m. The culvert is located between New Hope Road and Fulton Industrial Blvd. A portion of the road will be closed to through traffic. The repair process is expected to take months, and no end date has been announced at this time. For weeks, drivers who regularly travel the stretch of road have been forced to slow down due to a dramatic dip. They'll now need to begin exploring alternate routes. Traffic Shift at I-285 and Camp Creek Planned for June 10

Work crews for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) plan to implement a traffic shift in conjunction with on-going construction of the Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) project at I-285 and State Route 6/ Camp Creek Parkway in Fulton County.  Weather permitting, on Monday, June 10, crews will shift traffic access to the lanes on the south side of the DDI bridge. Shifting existing traffic from the bridge’s north side will allow crews to begin work on the north side, while traffic flows on the south side lanes.  Message boards and signage will alert drivers of the traffic shift.One center lane will continue to be closed, ensuring safety for workers and drivers as construction continues.  Once complete, it is expected that the I-285 at Camp Creek DDI will increase...
