City Council to Hear Four Zoning Cases on Jan. 11

The City of South Fulton will hold zoning public hearings on Jan. 11 at 6 p.m. Four cases will be heard impacting districts one, two and four. The cases scheduled to be heard by the city council include: Case Z21-016The applicant is requesting a rezone from AG-1 to CUP for 36 single family homes at 0 West Stubbs Rd. and 3315 West Stubbs Rd. in District 2. The case was heard by the Planning Commission on Dec. 15 and was approved with conditions. The city council will hear the case on Jan. 11 and vote on it on Jan. 25. South Fulton PRCA to Hold Master Plan Open House on Jan. 29

The City of South Fulton Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department (PRCA) and the Parks and Recreation System Master Plan Consulting Team will hold an open house on Jan. 29. Residents are invited to attend. Residents will be able to learn more about the citywide Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Master Plan and provide ideas for how its findings may relate to individual parks. South Fulton Convention & Visitors Bureau Board to Hold Inaugural Meeting

The board of directors of the South Fulton Convention & Visitors Bureau will hold its inaugural meeting on Friday, September 27 at 1:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at City Hall (5440 Fulton Industrial Boulevard) in Conference Room 169. A resolution to form the bureau was passed by the city council earlier this month. Its role is to solicit groups, conventions, meetings, tradeshows, exhibits, sports tournaments and other special events and attract overnight tourists. 13 individuals in total have been appointed to serve on the bureau’s board. They will establish operating policies and have the power to transact all business and manage the bureau’s affairs. South Fulton Announces Budget Hearing Dates

The city of South Fulton will hold two public hearings on the proposed FY2020 budget. The first will take place on September 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the South Fulton Service Center (5600 Stonewall Tell Road). The second hearing and final adoption will take place on September 18 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall (5440 Fulton Industrial Boulevard). The proposed budget is $105,912,402. The figure includes: General Fund: $73,821,952Hotel Mote: $240,000Solid Waste: $560,000Restricted Grants: $4,198,772Capital Investments: $9,499,348TSPLOST: $17,592,330 Any person wishing to be heard on the budget can do so at either of the hearings. The proposed budget is available on the city's website and in the clerk's office for the public to review prior to adoption.

The city of South Fulton's mayor and council will hold two special called meetings this week. On Monday, July 15, they'll meet at 8:30 a.m. to discuss amending the zoning moratorium. They'll hear a first reading to amend the zoning ordinance to limit uses. On Wednesday, July 17, they will enter executive session at 11:00 a.m. to discuss real estate and litigation. Both meetings will be held at City Hall (5440 Fulton Industrial Blvd.) in the break room.
