Skyhawks Host 70 Youth for Basketball Clinic at Welcome All Park

The College Park Skyhawks, the NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, in partnership with Kenneth S. Nugent, Attorneys at Law, hosted a basketball clinic earlier this month for 70 youth at Welcome All Park in South Fulton. The clinic was conducted by the coaching staff of the Skyhawks, including Head Coach Steve Gansey. Assistant coaches Ronnie Burrell and Da’Sean Butler joined Gansey to teach kids fundamentals of the game and fine-tune their skills. “Getting out in the community to engage with kids and teach them the game we all love is one of the best parts of the job,” said Gansey. “It was great to get outside and spend the day with the kids, and with the help of Ken Nugent and his team it was an amazing event.”  The clinic helped strengthen basketball ...

South Fulton PRCA to Hold Master Plan Open House on Jan. 29

The City of South Fulton Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department (PRCA) and the Parks and Recreation System Master Plan Consulting Team will hold an open house on Jan. 29. Residents are invited to attend. Residents will be able to learn more about the citywide Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Master Plan and provide ideas for how its findings may relate to individual parks. 125 Donors Needed for Citywide Blood Drive in South Fulton

The American Red Cross is partnering with The City of South Fulton and the Office of the Chaplain to hold a citywide blood drive on September 27 aimed at raising awareness for the urgent need for blood. The drive is also being held to encourage minority and faith-based communities to give now in honor of Sickle Cell Awareness Month in September. Sickle cell disease is the most common genetic blood disease in the U.S., and patients often require regular blood transfusions. MLB Great Marquis Grissom Launches Fall Baseball League at Welcome All Park

When Marquis Grissom caught the final out in the 1995 World Series, he secured the Atlanta Braves' only world championship win. Now he's helping to groom another generation of world class players. The Marquis Grissom Baseball Association (MGBA) has partnered with the city of South Fulton to elevate the baseball programming offered at Welcome All Park. Registration is currently open for the fall baseball league, an eight week program that starts on August 14. Ages seven to 13 are eligible to participate.
