South Fulton Mom’s Skincare Line a True Labor of Love

For many, the luxe whipped body butter trend is an exercise in self-indulgence, but for one South Fulton mom, it was the key to her ailing son’s skin issues. When Jonika Sutton stopped being able to use store-bought skincare products due to her son’s health condition, she began making products for him. She found that her all-natural and organic product recipes brought about a significant change in his skin, so much so that he no longer had to take the steroids he’d been prescribed.   “Natural products work better because you don’t have the adverse effects of the extra chemicals in store-bought products,” said Sutton. “The more natural we can get, the better our skin is.” Seeing how her products had dramatically improved her son’s skin, she began making them available for sale to ...

Simply Produce to Shutter after Three Years

Simply Produce will close its doors this weekend. Deanna Butler, the store's owner, took to social media today to announce plans to restructure. The store will continue to offer juices by delivery. In preparation for the store's closing, a produce sale is underway. Tangerines, cabbage, seeded grapes, zucchini, avocados, oranges, apples, kale, tomatoes, onions and lemons are all available at reduced pricing. Simply Produce first opened its doors in September 2016 on Roosevelt Highway in South Fulton. It was the manifestation of a vision that Butler had for nearly 20 years. The 14-year South Fulton resident and mom and five worked hard to provide seasonal, hand-selected produce to the community. Her popular "Four for Four" promotion helped to drive home the narrative that fast f...

C21 Connect Realty's April Rogerson, known to many in the area as The Contract Slayer, says homes often look their best during the holidays. Creating an inviting environment where buyers can see themselves celebrating can help to close the deal. "Deck the halls, but don’t go overboard," she says. "Sellers should be careful not to overdo it on the decor. Adornments shouldn't be too large and there shouldn't be too many." Even after the Christmas festivities have ended, Rogerson advises opting for general winter decorations.  "Adding elements  of warmth is a...

Local Restauranteur Knocks New Brunch Concept out of the ‘Parc’

There’s a new Sunday kick back for metro area brunch lovers. And it’s fabulous. Shema Fulton, the restauranteur behind South Fulton’s Baltimore Crab & Seafood and Bella, opened Garden Parc earlier this year, an event facility in the space formerly known as Live Edge ATL. While for most of the week, it’s dedicated to parties, meetings and other events, on Sundays it’s transformed into your favorite new brunch destination. The expansive buffet is more than worth the $30 tab, featuring whole roasted salmon, southern classics like greens and cornbread, banana pudding and more. Plus, you can order unlimited made-to-order omelettes, waffles, and shrimp and grits from your server. And if that’s not enough, Garden Parc’s decadent décor and three-piece jazz band led by saxophonist M...
